Installation

Step 1

Ensure you have your menu set up in Appearance > Menus

You want to add your main blog page, and your post categories to the menu.

Rename the blog page link to All or something similar.

Step 2

Unzip the zip file. It contains the Theme Builder Global Blog Pack 1 and a backup of the CSS used. You will only need that backup file if any of the code gets corrupted on import.

Step 3

Navigate to Divi > Divi Library. Click the Import & Export button at the top of the page.

Click Import, then Choose file. Locate the Week 144 - Theme Builder Global Blog Pack 1.json file on your computer

Be sure to tick Apply Layout's Defaults to this Website. Then click Import Divi Builder Layouts.

When the import process is complete, you should see four new layouts in your library.

Step 4 - Adding the Blog Layout

Navigate to Divi > Theme Builder and click on the Add New Template box. In the Template Settings window that pops up, select All Archive Pages and All Category Pages then click Create Template.

If you have a global header/footer set already, these will be added to your new template. Next, inside the template we just created, click Add Custom Body, and then Build Custom Body.

On the screen that opens, select Choose a Premade Layout.

Click Your Saved Layouts, then choose the Global Blog Layout.

You will need to open the settings for the menu module and assign the Post Category Menu you created earlier.

Click Save in the bottom right. (Don't worry if it looks wonky, this part of the builder doesn't render the layout very well yet.)

Then click the X in the top right.

You will then be taken back to the Theme Builder and see the layout has been assigned as the Custom Body. Click Save Changes

You will now want to create or open an existing blog page and load the same Global Blog Layout from the Divi Library. You shouldn't need to choose a menu on this page as that is a synced global setting. Save your blog page.

That's it!
