Unzip the downloaded package and you will see the following 3 files:
Day 5 - Filterable Blog Module.json (The page layout)
Day 5 - Filterable Blog Module Library Items.json (The library layouts)
Add library items via shortcode.txt (Code to go in functions.php)
Important: You will need to be using a child theme to utilise this layout
Step 1.
Open the Add library items via shortcode.txt file and copy the content, then paste into your functions.php file in your child theme. This code allows us to add items from the Divi library inside other modules using a shortcode, which is how this layout works.
Step 2.
Import the Day 5 - Filterable Blog Module.json file into a new page (not the library) with the Divi Builder. The import/export option can be accessed by clicking on the two arrows at the top of the builder.
Step 3.
Navigate to Divi > Divi Library and click on the Import & Export button at the top of the page.
Click the Import button and select the Day 5 - Filterable Blog Module Library Items.json from your computer and then click Import Divi Builder Layouts.
When the import is complete you will see the following layouts in your library.
Step 4.
Open each of the 5 layouts (you can delete some or duplicate them if you have more or less than 5 categories) and for each of the Desktop, Tablet and Mobile modules, choose the blog category you want to display. You will also want to rename the layout to the category you are using. Be sure to save your layouts.
Step 5.
Once you have updated all of your categories and renamed your layouts, on the main library page, hover over each layout name and you will see in the bottom left of your screen a URL displayed. Make a note of the Post ID number in the URL for each of your layouts (highlighted in yellow below).
Step 6.
Next, open the page you added the Filterable Blog Module Layout to and open the Tabs Module. Open each of the Tabs one by one and change the title to that of the blog category you wish to display, then change the ID number in the content area to the Post ID number from the corresponding library layout and save.
Once you have changed the ID for all of the tabs, save and view your new Filterable Blog Module :)
